I apologize in advance for the awkward pauses (maintenance came in). I talked about emotional intelligence and how we can better react to situations using the ABCDE model. People think that reactions are caused by events when in reality, it is from past thoughts or behaviors. (ex. you might want to yell at someone for cutting you off in traffic, and you are not necessarily mad about this time that a person cut you off but mad about another time when you were running late to work and someone cut you off,) I also talked about how corporations are using virtual reality to work on emotional intelligence and connect people from the same business but on different parts of the world.

Amanda I really liked your ILP! I really appreciated how you made it clear that sometimes how we are acting is all the cause of our emotions and nothing else so we need to stop and think about what is going on in our life and if our emotions are due to the current situation or something else that is going on. I also love how you go through the ABCDE process as that helps you to evaluate your emotions in-depth and helps you to better understand yourself and your emotions.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing this awesome resource. The ABCDE model is great for teachers and students ti help process and understand their emotions. Emotional intelligence is something that my job even focuses on today so I really enjoy how you dove into that as well!
